Abstract
This paper aims to present the project implemented in the Library System of the Catholic University of Córdoba (UCCb): “A more inclusive catalog, subject headings without gender bias and discrimination”. From the axis of social librarianship, those of us who work in the professional field of libraries must build real bridges between the community and the institution. In an analysis of the descriptors used in the bibliographic catalog, the need to eliminate gender bias and discrimination in subject headings was detected. Our work seeks to promote greater precision and clarity in the description of materials and to raise awareness among library staff, users and peer institutions of the importance of using inclusive language in the bibliographic context. descriptors used in the bibliographic catalog revealed the need to eliminate gender bias and discrimination in subject headings. With our work, we seek to promote greater precision and clarity in the description of materials and to raise awareness among library staff, users, and peer institutions of the importance of using inclusive language in the bibliographic context.
