Proposal of systematization of the analysis and following of scientific journals' visibility edited by the Facultad de Humanidades y Ciencias de la Educación of the Universidad Nacional de La Plata
Main Article Content
Abstract
Scientific journals play a fundamental role since they allow researchers to keep up to date on the progress in their fields, and make their own research known to others. The aim of this article was generating a tool for aiding in the analysis and follow-up of the scientific journals' visibility as a response to the impact factor issue which affects peripheral stream journals, through a preliminary report as a starting point for the future elaboration of a more complex tool which can be adapted to the diverse field of information units' different needs —the goal of this report. The information systems taken into account during the elaboration of this report were AmeliCA, Dialnet, Redalyc, Scopus, and Web of Science, along with the web tools Google Scholar and Matomo. As a result, a simple and free open-access tool emerged that provides specific data on visibility and use of scientific resources in the form of tables, charts, and indicators, which are extremely useful for scientists, researchers, and editorial groups interested on the different fields of knowledge discussed in these journals.
